THIS CITY OF TAKERS
This City of Takers started out as an original post-punk/indie rock band in the summer of 2009. At that time Brandon Lee and David Wise started the band out of the ashes of their own story, hurt, and need to create. David played lead guitar and Brandon brought the lyrics, vocals, and rhythm guitar to the sound. They joined forces with Michelle M. on bass, Andy P. on synths, and John M. on drums. Soon the band known as, This City of Takers, was born. Heavily influenced by Cursive, The Gaslight Anthem, Fugazi, Face to Face and others, the band quickly began writing a moody, dreamy, concept album about the depths of man’s mind, God, and the in between where they intersect and delusions become reality.
Throughout the next year they played locally and recorded their Debut EP: “Going Along With The Delusions Will Not Be Helpful”.
In April of 2010 David Wise moved to Chicago and TCOT replaced him on lead guitar with Dave M.
In 2011 the band recorded “The Felt” and underwent some line-up changes and Daniel joined the band on drums.
Today, This City of Takers (TCOT), continues to write and record songs, play locally, and with national acts.
